Energy storage systems
Modern, scalable storage systems that increase energy independence and optimise energy use. The full design and installation process, matched to the client’s needs.
An energy storage system that is already operating
Battery energy storage for businesses
For manufacturing plants, logistics centres and companies with their own PV or a high contracted capacity. The storage system works on the customer side: it charges when there is surplus energy and discharges when the plant draws the most. We size it to the consumption profile of the specific site.
PV self-consumption
Surplus from the PV installation goes into storage instead of the grid. The plant uses it after sunset or at peak times.
Peak shaving
The storage system discharges when the plant’s demand is highest. Peaks drawn from the grid are lower and the plant buys less energy at peak times.
Contracted capacity
Shaved peaks reduce the risk of exceeding the contracted capacity and the related charges. This is the basis for checking whether the contracted capacity can be lowered or a connection upgrade avoided as the plant grows.
Backup power
With the right configuration, the storage system keeps selected loads supplied during a grid outage. We define the scope and duration of backup at the concept stage.
How it works with VGEC
Consumption analysis
Metering data, energy bills, PV output and the site’s development plans.
Concept
Location on site, connection to the plant’s internal grid, PV integration, equipment selection.
Permits and design
Arrangements with the DSO, building and detailed design, permits or notifications where required.
EPC construction
Earthworks, installation of storage units, electrical works, SCADA and an EMS working with PV.
Acceptance and service
Commissioning, DSO acceptance, occupancy permit, maintenance services.
